You are seen. You are heard.

Do you struggle with discomfort, unwelcome pulling, or persistent numbness from your caesarean or abdominal surgery scar?

Does your mum “shelf” leave you feeling self conscious and unable to embrace your new postpartum body?

Are you disheartened by the lack of strength from your core, or the consistent back pain, pelvic pain and headaches that come along with it?

Do you find it difficult connecting with your breath and long to feel space and freedom within your abdomen?

Currently pregnant or planning a VBAC for your next birth and you want to best prepare and nourish your body in the lead up?

Are you sick and tired of seeing every practitioner under the sun and feeling no relief from your discomfort?

What is an Abdominal Scar Release?

Abdominal scars, adhesions and tension can contribute to back/hip/pelvic pain, pelvic floor issues such as incontinence, pelvic organ dysfunction and so much more. Not to mention the emotional and psychological impacts they can have if the scar is also linked to trauma.

The Abdominal Scar Release technique, originally pieced together by Myotherapist Madelaine Longrigg, is designed to support women who have birthed by caesarean section, have experienced abdominal surgery such as gynaecological laparoscopy/laparotomy for endometriosis or fibroid removal, as well as those who have had their reproductive organs removed through hysterectomy or cancer removal surgery. You will be offered a nurturing therapeutic touch, combined with fascial techniques to release tension, promote tissue regeneration, and restore mobility.

Abdominal Scar Release

During the Abdominal Scar Release session, we will explore your breath first and foremost, as the breath has the potential to unlock the path to healing.

I will also assess and release any adhesions around the ribs, diaphragm, abdominal wall, and lastly the scar.

I will support you to reconnect to your deep core, and your scar through guided visualisation, before giving you at home techniques to keep the healing process continued between appointments.

Sessions will also include before and after photos for your own reference.

It is recommended to have a minimum of three sessions to optimise the treatment benefits.
